Infant Toddler Programs

We believe that a bright and cheerful environment is important for your child's development. Our well-equipped center and trained staff provide opportunity for audio and visual stimulation for the children throughout the day. Our staff provides ongoing verbal and physical activities to help your child develop. Because studies show that a baby's intelligence is stimulated by classical sounds, classical and easy listening music is played.

Our staff ratio for infants and toddlers is:

INFANTS (6 weeks through 15 months) 4:1 or less
TODDLERS (16 months to 24 months not potty-trained) 5:1 or less

  Our staff have varied educational backgrounds and work experiences with children. We have selected these special people to provide nurturing as well as developmental growth assistance to your child. We believe it is vital to a child's growth to be held, comforted and rocked daily. Our staff receives ongoing training in areas of infant/toddler development. Because babies are so special, we require our staff to check diapers every thirty minutes and to document the sleep time, meals, and developmental milestones of each child. These written records are available for your viewing daily.

  Health is always an important issue - especially in a child care setting. Our staff is trained in universal precautions in handling and changing diapers and dealing with illness. If we think your baby is not feeling well, we will contact you immediately. Please do not bring your baby into the center is he/she is running a fever or is ill. We care about the health of all the babies in our care.

There are some responsibilities that are completely yours when you enroll your child into our program. They are as follows:

  • Providing milk and baby foods labeled with the child's full first and last name - ready to heat and serve (Please also keep emergency powder formula/food on hand at center. We do require that you keep an extra day's supply of food at the center - just in case you forget to bring food in one morning. Once your baby is on table foods, we will provide the meals and snacks for your child);
  • Providing disposable diapers and wipes;
  • Providing an extra change of clothing;
  • Signing medical authorizations for all medications including diaper ointments and teething gels;
  • Communicating concerns with staff so we can work together for your child's good; and
  • Other responsibilities as outlined in the parent handbook and contract.

  Each child is provided their own crib and we provide sheets and blankets daily. You are welcome to bring in your own bedding if you would like, but please mark it clearly. Bedding is changed daily or more frequently as needed. Laundry facilities are on premises to keep up with the daily changing needs.

We are safety conscience. Fire drills are conducted monthly. Our playgrounds have areas that are separated for infants and toddlers. Our buildings are secured throughout the day. Visitors are required to enter and register at the main office.

We hope you will become a part of our extended family. Feel free to call our center director, Maureen Chrystal, with questions or to schedule your tour today! 434-977-0511
